this strategy, how can you choose Mountfield, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty?

The Waste Local Plan strategy is also to reduce road traffic
associated with the transportation of waste. Given this strategy, how can you choose Mountfield, in a rural area,
some distance from the main urban areas producing waste, and
create a negative impact on traffic locally and on the A21, as waste is brought
in by HGV?

The Waste Local Plan states that for an incinerator plant
"the buildings required are large, with a tall stack". How
large will the buildings be and how high will the stack be?
Large incineration plants
are required to incorporate high stacks (commonly 190 feet to 290 feet) according to the
17th report by the Royal Commission
on Environmental Pollution, in
order to disperse gases.

The effects of incinerator emissions on the agricultural industry
in the area, particularly the increasing number of organic farms, are unclear.
What assurances do local farmers have that these emissions will not affect their farms?

We are concerned about the effects of incinerator emissions on
public health, as there are three local
reservoirs near Mountfield: Darwell, Bewl and Powdermill.
What is the potential effect of
incinerator emissions on the drinking water in this area?
